The Akkord Construction Company will build a large road junction at Galaba (Victory) Square, located near the Ganjlik Metro station, the company reported March 15.
Earlier, the company won a tender announced by the Transport Ministry of Azerbaijan.
The main objective of this project is to regulate transport movement, decrease traffic jams and provision a no-traffic light regime at the Galaba Square and road crossings.
As part of this project, it is planned to build five tunnels, a three-storey car park and expansion of the adjacent roads, and to redirect the exit of the Ganjlik Metro station from Ataturk Avenue to the center of the square.
Construction will start in April.
At the moment, about 200 Akkord workers are working on the project.
