The water level in the lower reaches of the Kur river has decreased by 20 centimeters as a result of work carried out by the courts of technical fleet of the Azerbaijan State Caspian Shipping Company (CASPAR) in the delta of the Kura River, CASPAR Spokesman Vugar Sadikhov said. These works are carried out under the President Ilham Aliyev's instruction.

The water level in the lower reaches of the Kur river has decreased by 20 centimeters as a result of work carried out by the courts of technical fleet of the Azerbaijan State Caspian Shipping Company (CASPAR) in the delta of the Kura River, CASPAR Spokesman Vugar Sadikhov said. These works are carried out under the President Ilham Aliyev's instruction.

The Azerbaijani regions faced landslides and mudflows because of rising water levels in the Kur River. Several ministries and departments were involved in the activities to eliminate the consequences and prevent of these processes.

Sadikhov said the Narva excavator and Absheron-5 tug operate in the Neftchala region, where dredging was carried out.

Sediment brought in by the river, has created problems in the mouth length one kilometer, he said. As a result, the depth of water in this sector fell by 40 centimeters. CASPAR ships paved channel length of 500 meters, a depth of two meters and a width of 15-20 meters in the area May 12. As a result, the water level fell to 20 centimeters. Work on the delta continues.
