Turkish company commissions drinking water plant in Turkmenistan

Plant for drinking water production with capacity of 150,000 cubic meters per day was put into operation in the northern part of Turkmenistan - the city of Dashoguz (regional center).

Plant for drinking water production with capacity of 150,000 cubic meters per day was put into operation in the northern part of Turkmenistan - the city of Dashoguz (regional center).

According to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov's decree the contract was concluded with the Turkish company SEHIL Insaat Endustri ve Ticaret Limited Sirketi, the Ministry of Construction said.

The contract value is estimated at $279,907,230.  

The enterprise was built in order to implement the tasks for the regular provision of qualitative drinking water to consumers in Dashoguz.

The enterprise occupies an area of five hectares. Water comes from the channel Turkmen-Derya, which begins from the Amu Darya via the two water conduit with length of more than 7.5 kilometers each. After initial processing, the water passes through sand filters and is transported to tanks for storage of cleansed water with capacity of 15,000 cubic meters each.

Production from pumping station is transported to ring water pipe with a total length of 25 kilometers, connecting with water communications the existing in the region.
