Low quality sausages revealed in Azerbaijan

The State Service for Antimonopoly Policy and Consumer Protection under the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economic Development during the regular monitoring revealed the lack of quality of oil produced by small enterprise "Sehliyalı", located in the town of Khirdalan, the ministry said.

It was indicated that 52.5 percent of the products is butter. But the laboratory analysis revealed the lack of the product. Moreover, according to the regulations, it should be indicated that it is mixed with butter. In fact, HALAL KERE YAGI (butter Halal) was written and the word - "mixed" by small letters. It was done with the intent to mislead consumers.

In connection with these violations civil service began to conduct monitoring.

Initial investigations showed that the company produced sausage brand "BS" - "Milk," "Doctor" and "Amateur", sausages "Manqalustu", ayran with fat of 1.4 percent, cream with fat of 15 and 25 percent, cheese "Sehliyalı" with date of expiry on the package. It was revealed that the date of expiry exceed those needed under regulatory and technical requirements.

Moreover, the company revealed 362.7 pounds of meat products, as well as 19 kilograms of expired ingredients.

Samples of meat and dairy products produced at the plant, as well as the material used in the manufacturing process, were taken to carry out laboratory tests.
