Georgian businessmen living abroad to establish Investment Fund of the Diaspora

Georgian businessmen living abroad will establish the Investment Fund of the Diaspora June 25-27 in Slovakia, State Minister for Diaspora Affairs head Papuna Davitaia said at a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Relations with Compatriots.

Georgian businessmen living abroad will establish the Investment Fund of the Diaspora June 25-27 in Slovakia, State Minister for Diaspora Affairs head Papuna Davitaia said at a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Relations with Compatriots.

According to the official, Georgians living abroad will be able to transfer money to the fund to invest in Georgia. According to Davitaia, its founders are Georgian businessmen living abroad.

"Our compatriots emigrating abroad is unfortunate, but we need to think about how these people can be useful to their own homeland," Davitaia said.

According to the official, the fund will actively work with the Economy Ministry.

The Economy Ministry's "Return to Georgia" project was held May 17-19. During the event, 1,923 Georgian businessman living abroad visited Georgia.
