The Azerbaijani Health Ministry will continue suspending pharmacies that do not comply with national standards, Azerbaijani Health Minister Ogtay Shiraliyev said today.
"Anyone working in the pharmaceutical sphere knows a special permission for operation. However, some pharmacies continue to work illegally," he said.
The minister added that although the medical infrastructure has improved significantly as of late and the number of counterfeit medicines on the market has also decreased, much work remains to be done.
According to Shiraliyev, Azerbaijan imports 3,000 medical items.
