UN develops project to assist Turkmen government in the field of staff retraining

The UN Secretariat Economic and Social Affairs Department develops a project promoting the Turkmen government in the field of staff retraining and the development of normative documents, Department representative Alexei Tikhomirov said at the meeting with President Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov, the Turkmen governmental pres service reported.

"The program of socio-economic development of Turkmenistan until 2030 and reforms implemented under this program brings Turkmenistan to the new trajectory of a serious economic growth and comprehensive social development," Tikhomirov said.

He said the global economic and financial crisis practically not affected Turkmenistan thanks to measures taken by the country's leadership.

The sides discussed prospects of a multi-faceted cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UN, in particular on the achievement of common goals, whose implementation will be devoted to the upcoming autumn Ordinary Session of the UN General Assembly, which also will be attended the Turkmen President.
