Georgian and Turkish contiguous regions implement joint tourist project

Georgia and Turkey intend to intensify cooperation in the tourism sector. This agreement was reached during a meeting between governor of Artvin province (Turkey) Mustafa Iemlihalioghlu and head of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara Levan Varshalomidze.

In particular, the sides discussed the implementation of the project "one tourist, one ticket - two countries". It will allow foreign tourists to move freely in the border resort areas of the two countries when visiting Turkey and Georgia.

Iemlihalioghlu and Varshalomidze also discussed economic cooperation between the two border regions and agreed to the partnership.

The head of Adjara said that "open-door policy" held by two countries is very important for the development of economic relations between the two countries.
