The Azerbaijan State Shipping Company (CASPAR) should share power, says the report of the UN Special Program for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA), entitled "Assessment of needs for trade and human development in Azerbaijan" presented on Thursday in Baku.
The report says the separation of powers has not yet been carried out and this issue should be resolved.
CASPAR has 80 vessels on its balance. The total volume of ships on the balance is 43 tanker and 37 cargo ships and ferries. The total deadweight tonnage of all vessels is more than 486,000 tons, the article says.
CASPAR transported about 13.2 million tons of cargo in 2009. Of the total volume more than 9.86 million tons were transported by tankers, about 1.03 million tons - by vessels and the remaining approximately 2.3 million tons-by ferry.
