The Azerbaijani State Service for Antimonopoly Policy and Consumer Protection under the Economic Development Ministry held a conference entitled "Duties of employers to protect the consumer rights" in the Shaki region, the service reported.

The conference was attended by about 250 entrepreneurs of the Shaki-Zagatala economic region.

The service revealed 735.9 tons of expired or non-relevant products during the monitoring in January-June, Service Head Zahid Isayev said. Of the total amount 148.3 tons were eliminated, 30.3 tons - sent for re-treatment, 523.8 tons - returned to sale after holding of measures for meeting statutory requirements and the investigation of 33.5 tons is underway. In addition, the service also seized 299.1 tons of non-food products, 12.7 tons of which had been eliminated, 218.1 - directed to re-labeling and returned for sale and the investigation of 68. is underway.

During the report period, the service took 762 relevant decisions against the violators and penalized for a total amount of 1,138mln manat.
