Restoration of Kazakhstan's export position is ensured by changing the price situation on world commodity markets, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zhanar Aitzhanova said, speaking at a governmental meeting in Astana.

"Restoration of Kazakhstan's export position is ensured by changing the price situation on world commodity markets. It developed better than in the corresponding period last year," Aitzhanova said.

It should be noted that the basic positions on the export of Kazakhstan are oil, aluminum and copper.

Aitzhanova said that the world price of Brent crude was $ 17 more than for the six months of 2009 and amounted to $78.9 per barrel.

The world price of aluminum increased by $465, amounting to $2,130 per ton. Copper increased by almost $ 2,000 ($7,121.5 per ton).

"Foreign trade turnover of Kazakhstan amounted to $34.4 billion for five months of this year. It increased by 39.8 percent due to significant increases in exports up to 74.1 percent compared to the same period," Aitzhanova said.
