Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received a delegation headed by Turkish Minister of State for Foreign Trade Zafar Caglayan, AzerTaj state information agency reported.
The President expressed confidence that the visit of Turkish Minister of State for Foreign Trade to Azerbaijan will be successful.
President Aliyev said that relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan in economic sphere are at a good level. He stressed opportunities for further expansion of these ties.
Regarding arrival of businessmen from Turkey together with minister, the president noted the significance in terms of joint activity with local businessmen and development of relations between countries.
Minister of State for Foreign Trade of Turkey Zafar Caglayan conveyed the greetings of Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the Azerbaijani president.
Minister expressed satisfaction over the successful continuation of large-scale processes of development, founded by national leader Heydar Aliyev.
Zafar Caglayan recalled his visit to Azerbaijan a year ago. He said that he witnessed the construction of new beautiful buildings, wide roads and development in Baku not observed in any other country in the world.
Minister said that despite the global financial crisis in 2009, Azerbaijan's economy increased by nine percent. He said that he is proud of the development of Azerbaijan, and congratulated the president with high results.
The President thanked Minister. He stressed extensive development process in the country. He said that the success of Azerbaijan is the success of Turkey, and Turkey's success is the success of Azerbaijan.
President Aliyev expressed confidence that fraternal relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan will continue to develop.
The President expressed gratitude for the greetings of President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and asked to convey his greetings to the Turkish President and Prime Minister.
