The amount of transfers received by Georgia in July soared to $81 million, which is $1.6 million or two percent more than the same period in 2009, the National Bank of Georgia said.
Transfers from Russia ($5 million), Turkey ($0.4 million), Germany ($0.4 million), and Israel ($0.2 million) as well as from other countries increased during this period.
The National Bank of Georgia says 91.6 percent of total amount of transfers fall to seven donor countries where the cashflow exceeds $1 million in July. During the same period of 2009, 89.8 percent of transfers fell to these nine countries.
In July 2010, $6.3 million was transferred from Georgia abroad compared to $7.1 million transferred in July 2009.
