Turkmenistan Airlines hopes to open flights to Ankara and Antalya, an official Turkmen source told Trend today. The issue was discussed with Turkish Foreign Trade Minister Zafer Caglayan during his recent trip to Ashgabat.

Turkmenistan Airlines hopes to open flights to Ankara and Antalya, an official Turkmen source told Trend today. The issue was discussed with Turkish Foreign Trade Minister Zafer Caglayan during his recent trip to Ashgabat.

Turkmenistan Airlines currently makes daily flights to Istanbul.

A Turkish delegation attended the meeting of the newly formed Turkmen-Turkish Business Council this week. The delegation discussed energy, construction, textile, food industry and small- and medium-sized business development.

Meanwhile, at the opening ceremony of a Turkish exhibition in Ashgabat, Caglayan "expressed his gratitude for supporting and creating favorable conditions for full, long-term interaction." The ceremony was attended by over 70 Turkish companies specializing in the construction materials, equipment, furniture, and household appliances sectors.

According to Turkish media, Turkisih exports to Turkmenistan amounted to $561 million in the first half of 2010, with imports exceeding $150 million.
