In the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21) over 25.5 million tons of cement has been produced in the country.
IRNA news agency cited a report by the ministry of mines and industry stating the country's industry sector has witnessed an 18 percent growth in cement production compared to the same period last year.
In the month of Mordad (July 22 to August 22) over 5.5 million tons was produced which is 15.5 percent more than the year before.
In this period 24.4 million tons of clinker was produced in the country which is 21 percent more than last year.
This year Mordad 4.85 million tons of clinker was produced in the country which shows 23 percent increase compared to the month of Mordad last year.
During the five month period some 3 million tons of cement and 858,000 tons of clinker was exported from Iran and in Mordad alone over 650,000 tons of cement and 185,000 tons of clinker was exported from the country.
