Industrial production in Georgia increased by 10 percent

In the second quarter of 2010, turnover of Georgia's industrial sector was 1243.1 million lari, and output - 1076.9 million lari ($ 1 = 1.82 lari), which is 10 percent more than the same period of last year, the National Statistics Service of Georgia (Gruzstat) said.

During the reported period, compared with the first quarter, the number employed in this sphere has increased by 4 percent to 87,826 people.

In the second quarter on economic activities 75 percent of industrial products accounts for the processing industry. It is followed by generation, distribution of electricity, gas and water - 19 percent and mining - six percent.
