Over 16 foreign companies continue to produce cars for Iran

At present, about 16 foreign companies continue to produce cars to Iran, while Japan's Toyota and South Korea's Kia Motors suspended export, Isna agency reported.

Peugeot, Renault, Nissan, Volkswagen, Hyundai Motors, Citroen, Suzuki, Mazda, Isuzu, MAN, Scania, Volvo, Lifan and Kamaz companies are still involved in the production of cars in Iran.

The number of foreign cars produced in Iran for the first five months (a year in Iran begins on March 21) is the following:

- French Peugeot, together with its Iranian partner Iran Khodro produced over 190,000 cars. It is the largest carmaker in Iran

- French Renault with Iran Khodro and Pars Khodro produced over 160,000 cars

- Nissan, together with its Iranian partner Pars Khodro produced more than 4,000 cars, including Maxima, Roniz and others,

- Hyundai Motors produced 3.172 cars in Iran. As opposed to Kia Motors, it has no plans to suspend production of cars in Iran.

- French Citroen produced 4,450 Xantias cars.

Suzuki imported 1.800 cars to Iran. Mazda and Isuzu delivered 12,000 and 4,926 cars, respectively, to the Iranian market. MAN company supplied 17 cars, Scania - 349 cars, Volvo - 181 cars, Kamaz - 447 cars.
