The Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) is ready to expand the amounts of funding of new projects in Georgia, the BSTDB Presieent Andrey Kondakov said in Tbilisi after meeting with the Georgian the National Bank President Irakli Kadagidze.
He stressed that this is his first visit to Georgia as the Bank's president, however, he has repeatedly visited the Georgian capital, as vice-president of the structure.
"Over the past year we funded 15 projects in Georgia totaling $70 million. I hope that our future cooperation will be expanded. The bank's mission will be sent to Georgia at the end of the first quarter of 2011, which, together with the Georgian side will discuss the new projects," he said.
In turn, Kadagidze supported activization of the Black Sea Bank's activity in Georgia.
"At the meeting we discussed issues of strengthening the investment policy, which is now the most important task for Georgia, and we hope that the activization of our relations will lead to growth of investments," Kadagidze said.
Kondakov today will hold meetings with bankers and businessmen in Georgia.
BSTDB was established in 1994. The Bank's headquarters is located in Thessaloniki (Greece). The bank goal is financing of regional projects, facilitating trade between the countries and regional economic development in general.
