German airline Lufthansa said Monday that it had taken the precautionary step of replacing one of its Airbus A380 Rolls Royce engines following a review, DPA reported.
But a Lufthansa spokesman insisted that the move was not related to the discovery by the Australian carrier Qantas of traces of oil on three of its aircraft engines.
Flights of the Lufthansa super jumbo jets would continue as planned, a spokesman for the German airline said.
Last week the engine of a Qantas A380 jet disintegrated shortly after the aircraft took off from Singapore.
