Azerbaijani State Maritime Administration and Greek Ministry of Sea Transportation, Islands and Fishing have agreed the final version of the draft of the intergovernmental agreement on sea transport, the Administration said today.
The final version of the document was agreed during the visit of specialists of the Azerbaijani State Maritime Administration to Athens, which was organized to discuss the document and the prospects of cooperation between the sides in sea transport.
During the meeting of the two departments' representatives a need for conducting measures to facilitate the process of port clearance and sea transportation, as well as preventing unnecessary delays of ships under the laws of both states and port regulations and obligations under international law. Also the meeting stressed the need to maintain cooperation by observing the free and fair competition between the competent authorities in the sphere of international sea transport.
