Meeting of Azerbaijan-Greece joint intergovernmental committee and business-forum postponed

A meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Committee on Economic, Industrial and Technological Cooperation between Greece and Azerbaijan, scheduled for Nov. 29, was postponed for a indefinite period, the government told Trend today.

A meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Committee on Economic, Industrial and Technological Cooperation between Greece and Azerbaijan, scheduled for Nov. 29, was postponed for a indefinite period, the government told Trend today.

The 4th Greek-Azerbaijani Business Forum scheduled for Nov. 29 was also postponed, the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs' Organizations of Azerbaijan said.

"The business forum was postponed for 2011 on the Greek side's proposal," the confederation said.

The exact date of the business forum has not been determined yet.

Greek Deputy Foreign Minister, Spyros Kouvelis, and Azerbaijani Minister of Industry and Energy Natig Aliyev are co-chairmen of the intergovernmental commission.

According to the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Greece from January to October 2010 amounted to $179,983 million.

During this period, Azerbaijan imported goods from Greece to the amount of $10,594 million, while export amounted to $169,389. Black ink worth $ 158.795 million was registered in the foreign trade between Azerbaijan and Greece.
