Georgia has started building the new Anaklia Airport in Zugdidi, which should open by next year's tourism season.
The largest airport in Georgia will be the Poti Aiport, whose construction is scheduled to end by 2012. It will serve Batumi, Mestia, Anaklia and Kutaisi.
The Anaklia Airport will be of great local importance, as the settlement has become a large tourism zone. Planes holding 20-30 passengers will fly to the area. This type of aircraft is mobile and cheap.
The airport will also maintain flights to Tbilisi and other towns within a radius of several kilometers. Tourist charter flights will also be made.
