Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, Dec. 3 / Trend H.Hasanov /
In cooperation with Chevron Nebitgaz B.V. and USAID, Turkmenistan and the Turkmen Finance Ministry launched a series of workshops to train accounting specialists.
The workshops are held in Turkmenistan under the Certified International Professional Accountant international certification program, which enhances experts' knowledge in international financial reporting standards.
"These events are a major part of the country's plan to provide a significant increase to the number of Turkmen accountants and economists," USAID representative in Turkmenistan Ken McNamara said.
The initiative is carried out under the USAID Project Economic Reforms to Enhance Competitiveness Project.
Since 1992, USAID had provided more than $90 million for programs to support economic development, social sector and community initiatives in Turkmenistan.
