Azerbaijani bank expands activity in Russia

"IBA-Moscow" plans to become the largest bank in Russia by expanding its regional network, network in Moscow and at the expense of new directions, the bank's board chairman Fuad Abdullayev told Trend today.

"The bank has opened its branches in three Russian regions - Moscow, St. Petersburg and Yekaterinburg. Under the bank's new strategy for 2010-2015, IBA-MOSCOW should be represented in three regions, one of which is Nizhny Novgorod. The remaining two regions are still under discussion," Abdullayev said.

The new program of expanding branch network envisages the development of several types of offices: branch, universal office and mini-office. Abdullayev said that a functional network consisting of 5-6 mini-offices (kiosk with an ATM, operating cash desk or office in a shopping center), which will cover the key areas of cities, where the bank is represented, will be created around universal office.

IBA-Moscow is a subsidiary of the International Bank of Azerbaijan. It is first and only bank in Russia with 100-percent Azerbaijani capital. It has operated in Russia since 2002.
