The new Armada-type "Mubariz Ibrahimov" tanker belonging to the Palmali Group, which was named after Azerbaijani national hero, opened at the Besiktas Shipyard in Istanbul yesterday.
The new tanker with a length of 140 meters, a width of 16 meters and a height of six meters has a capacity of 7,000 tons.
A contract to construct 10 Armada tankers was signed between Palmali and Besiktas on Oct. 8, 2009. This is the first vessel launched from the shipyard. The second ship to launch will be the "Kapitan Nagdaliyev" vessel.
The tankers operate successfully carrying out mixed rive-sea shipments of oil, black oil, diesel fuel and other petroleum products and vegetable oils. The tankers will sail the Caspian, Black, Mediterranean, Baltic and North seas, including sea passages in Europe.
