The Azerbaijani State Customs Committee intends to hold meetings with participants of foreign economic activity to inform about the innovations in the field of customs legislation in the country and worldwide from 2011, Shahin Bagirov, chief of main administration of customs control organization of the Azerbaijani
State Customs Committee, said.
He said that the new draft Customs Code has already been submitted to the Azerbaijani Parliament.
Moreover, the draft Customs Code provides for the measures to increase trust between customs authorities and participants of the foreign economic activity. In particular, it means using customs exemptions for people seriously complying with the requirements of customs legislation.
He said that the new edition of the Code was prepared jointly by local and international experts. In this regard, the meetings were held with businessmen. They are informed about changes in customs legislation. But their proposals were reflected while developing the code.
A unified automated control system (VAIS), other new technologies, used for customs clearance and control, and a new section of the web page of the Customs Committee "Registration of transport operators" were presented at the meeting.
