Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover hits $28 bln as of 2010

Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover with 145 countries comprised $27,924 billion in 2010, the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee reported. The black ink of import-export operations amounted to $14,725 billion.

In total 7,772 legal entities (3.661) and physical entities (4.111) participated in the foreign trade operations.

The amount of export hit $21,3 billion in 2010 or 45.05 percent ($6.6 billion) more compared to the same period of 2009.

The share of public sector in exports totaled $20,184 billion (94.65 percent), private - $1,005 billion (4.71 percent) and physical entities - $135.7 million (0.64 percent).

During Jan.-Dec., imports totaled $6,599 billion, which increased by 7.78 percent ($0.476 million) compared to the same period of 2009.

The share of public sector in import operations amounted to $1.912 billion (28.98 percent), the private sector - $4.348 billion (65.89 percent) and physical entities - $338.6 million (5.13 percent).

Azerbaijan exported 2,186 types of goods and imported 6,057 for 12 months.
