The tax revenues to the state budget of Azerbaijan totaled 4.294 billion manat in 2010. It is 4.4 percent, or 180.6 million manat more than the previous year, Deputy Tax Minister Natig Amirov said at a press conference this week about the results for 2010.
"Roughly 63.3 percent or 2.717 billion manat of the tax revenues were provided by the private sector. It is 324.9 million manat, or 13.6 percent more than in 2009," the deputy minister said.
Deputy Tax Minister Sakhir Mammadkhanov said tax collection in the non-oil sector amounted to 2.359 billion manat, or an increase of 181 million manat. In 2006, revenues from the non-oil sector reached 1.15 billion manat.
"Economic development in the country's regions has had a positive effect on the level of tax revenues. Tax revenues from the regions accounted for 86.8 million manat as of 2006, while in 2008 they hit 312 million manat, and hit 302 million manat in in 2009. Tax revenues hit 344 million manat in 2010," Mamedkhanov said.
