Media: European companies to act as licensors in Turkmenistan

"MWKellogg Ltd" (UK) will act as a licensor of ammonia, "Stamicarbon" (Netherlands)  - carbamide and "Unde Fertilizers Technologies" (Germany) - granulated carbamide in Turkmenistan, "Neutral Turkmenistan" newspaper reported.

"Energy consumption and operating costs of production will be reduced by using advanced technologies. It will contribute to reducing the cost of the final product, by ensuring its high competitiveness on the global market," a statement said.

It deals with the largest factory for the production of nitrogen fertilizers in the town of Mary.

A consortium of Japanese companies "Kawasaki Plant Systems Ltd" and "Sojits Corporation", as well as the Turkish company "Renaissance" will construct it for $1.1 billion.

The plant for ammonia production with capacity of 400,000 tons and carbamide 640,000 per year will fully ensure the internal needs of the country. Most carbamide, produced by modern technologies, will be sent to foreign consumers.

According to the signed contract, the company should be commissioned in June 2014.

"Neutral Turkmenistan" newspaper emphasizes that carbamide, which is supposed to be used for agricultural purposes within the country and to be exported from Turkmenistan can be applied to all types of soils and all crops.
