The Iranian Parliament's specialized commissions are to start investigating the government-proposed budget bill for the next fiscal year (March 21, 2011-March 20, 2012), IRNA reported.
The Parliament study MPs' proposals and present its final report on the issue to the Joint Commission within maximum 10 days from publication and distribution of the bill .
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad presented the budget bill to Majlis on February 20.
The draft budget for the next year was around $177 billion. Last year the total budget amounted to $368 billion.
While presenting the bill, in an address the president told Majlis that his government aimed to reduce country's reliance on oil income and continue the subsidy cut plan which has already begun.
