Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov discussed the long-term partnership at a meeting with Foreign Minister of Malaysia Anifah Aman, the national TV channel Turkmenistan-4 reported.
A senior official said that Malaysia considers Turkmenistan, having enormous economic potential, as one of the most important and promising partners.
"The cooperation with Malaysia has enormous potential for full partnership given the experience of collaboration and opportunities for diversifying business relations, " the Turkmen leader said.
The sides exchanged views on prospects for cooperation and aspects of international policy of mutual interest.
Aman said that Malaysian businessmen are ready to establish close long-term cooperation with Turkmenistan.
Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi paid the official visit to Ashgabat in Nov. 2008.
