The Azerbaijan Investors Summit 2011, which is being held in Baku with the support of the Azerbaijani Economic Development Ministry, Azerbaijani Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) and Euroconvention Global Conferences, is being attended by about 50 foreign investors, AZPROMO President Adil Mammadov told journalists.
"Investors from countries such as Germany, Spain, France, the UAE, UK, and Hong Kong are represented at the summit and this indicates that all of the conditions for foreign investors have been created in Azerbaijan and the country is already attracting them as a place for effective investment," Mammadov said.
According to him, investors are interested in funding various sectors of the economy such as agriculture, construction, alternative energy.
"Most investors are in Azerbaijan for the first time and their main goal is to get the maximum amount of information about the country, and we, in turn, will provide it to them," Mammadov said.
The summit is also attended by about 130 Azerbaijani companies.

The main themes of the summit's first day will be investment and business opportunities in the South Caucasus and the Caspian region, banking and financial services, alternative energy markets, and business opportunities in agriculture and food product development.
The head of the EU office in Azerbaijan, Roland Kobia, will speak at the summit, as well as other public and government leaders.
The second day of the summit will focus on telecommunications and IT in attracting further foreign direct investments, and financing and investing in Azerbaijan's infrastructure boom. The Azerbaijani deputy communications and IT minister and deputy transport minister will deliver reports.
