A vocational school will be created under the Azerbaijani Tourism Institute to improve the quality of tourism services within the Year of Tourism, the Azerbaijani Tourism Institute rector Jafar Jafarov said.
"At present, we are carrying out necessary work to implement this project," Jafarov said.
He said that the main goal of creating such educational institutions is staff training, whose activities do not require higher education. Only 20 percent of activities in the tourism sector require higher education.
The government's decision on the establishment of the vocational school under the Institute is expected to be announced in the near future, Jafarov said.
"We are already fully ready for this work," he said.
Jafarov said that pedagogues from the Tourism Institute will give lessons in this educational institution, but it is not enough, so the Institution will recruit teachers specializing in tourism.
