Azerbaijan records a rise in the prices for cotton purchased from farmers by the cotton-cleaning enterprises and expansion of acreage under it, the Azerbaijani State Property Issues Committee's Mulkiyyet newspaper reported.
The largest cotton producer in Azerbaijan - the MKT Company increased the cost of cotton purchased by farmers by about 7 percent - from 0.39 manat to 0.42 manat. The prices for cotton on the world market and for cotton purchased from local farmers raised Azerbaijani farmers' interest in this area.
