Azerbaijani representative included in MONEYVAL's assessment mission for first time

Strasbourg held the 35th meeting of the Committee of Experts on the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering and the Financing of Terrorism (MONEYVAL) on April 11-14.
An Azerbaijani delegation headed by the chairman of the State Committee for Securities Rufat Aslanli attended the meeting, the committee said.
The agenda of the meeting included approving of a plan of activity for 2011, studying the reports on the evaluation of the Czech Republic and Albania, as well as discussing the reports on the results of activities carried out in Bulgaria, Moldova, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The activities, undertaken to resolve the gaps in this area and revealed in three countries, are under monitoring.

According to the committee's decision, an Azerbaijani delegation was first appointed as rapporteur for Moldova. The report on Moldova's progress has been analyzed and presented by the Azerbaijani side at the meeting.

For the first time a representative of the Azerbaijani delegation (Deputy Director of the Financial Monitoring Service of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan A. Salmanov) was included in the assessment mission committee, which will be held in Latvia.

The Azerbaijani delegation held bilateral meetings to exchange the views on combating money laundering and terrorist financing.
