The Azerbaijani Taxes Ministry revealed six facilities offering illegal bookmaker activity in Baku, the ministry's official website reported.
"NTV+" in the Narimanov district, "Az-bet " in the Khatai district, "Qalatasaray" in the Surakhani district, "Aspirant" in the Yasamal district, "Qalatasaray" and "Çay evi" in the Nasimi district are among these facilities. People transfer money at these facilities by making predictions on football match results before the matches.
These facilities operate as cafes and teahouses, without obtaining special permission. They organize additional illegal bookmaker activity, the website reported.
During the ministry's controlling measures, a notebook, eight processors, black accounting documents, cash in the amount of 1,101 manat, various companies' stamps and seals and hundreds of payment receipts given to citizens were seized.
According to reports, measures stipulated by legislation will be taken against physical assumingly legal entities that are illegally organizing bookmakers' activity.
According to the order No 245 of the Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers on December 29, 2010, the organizers of casino and sports games and their agents (sellers) will pay taxes. As the tax code limits the income tax rate by 20 percent of income, the actual income tax rate hits 6 percent of the income while determining the income at 30 percent of the income of gaming participants.
The amount of income tax paid by an agent reaches 4 percent.
These operators and agents are exempt from VAT.
The official exchange rate is 0.7918 manat to $1 on April 20.
