The UAE is interested in investing in Azerbaijan, especially in the tourism sector, UAE Economy Minister Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansoori told media in Baku.
"We are trying to increase the flow of tourists between the two countries," he said.
The customs authorities of Azerbaijan and the UAE signed an agreement on mutual assistance and cooperation in Baku customs.
The document was signed at the third meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic, trade and technical cooperation between Azerbaijan and the UAE in Baku.
Following the meeting, a protocol was also signed.
Economic Development Minister Shahin Mustafayev said during the meeting of an intergovernmental committee that the foreign trade turnover between Azerbaijan and the UAE in January-March increased by 1- percent compared to the same period of last year.
He said that the growth of trade turnover with the UAE amounted to 36.8 percent in 2010.
