A plant producing gas concrete blocks with a capacity of 180,000 cubic meters a year, the first in Transcaucasia, will be commissioned in Azerbaijan in July, AAC General Director Teymur Abdulrahimov told journalists.
The plant is located in the Sangachal settlement of Baku's Garadagh district.
"This will be the first plant in the Caucasus producing producing gas concrete blocks, main part of which will be sold in the country.
However, the company considers the possibility of export to the nearest neighboring regions such as Georgia and Dagestan (Russia)," Abdulrahimov said.
He said Azerbaijan has a market for the sale of gas concrete blocks - products which are ecologically clean and resistant to heat. Advanced German technology was used in the construction of the plant.
A factory for the production of two types of lime - slaked and quicklime will be also built inside the plant .
"About 50 percent of the lime will be sent for production of gas concrete blocks, and the rest - for sale," Abdulrahimov underscored.
