Car manufacturing cluster to be created in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan's "Azia Avto" car assembly plant is planning to implement a project for establishing a car manufacturing cluster near Ust-Kamenogorsk by 2017, Caspionet reported referring to the company.

514 million US dollars will be invested in the project.

According to the plant's report, the project involves equipment for blanking, welding, painting, producing components and finished vehicles of up to 120 thousand units per year. The attainment of projected capacity will require creating 12 thousand new jobs.

The project will provide an additional 68.6 million US dollars in annual payments to the budget and 1.04 billion US dollars of export receipts.

Kazakhstan's "Azia Avto" car assembly plant was founded in 2003 and is the only operating car manufacturer in the country. The plant's partners include the world's leading companies such as, Volkswagen Group, General Motors, Renault-Nissan-AvtoVAZ and KIA Motors.
