An X-ray scanner has been installed in Poti on a railway junction. The apparatus will allow customs officials to check all incoming cargo without opening containers .
The system was built using a $30 million grant allocated by the Chinese government.
China 's ambassador to the country and the Finance Minister signed an act to transfer the system to the Georgian side following the apparatus's presentation .
Chinese ambassador Chen Jianfu said that this is a modern X-ray scanner with an analogue operating in Europe . " Now the customs procedures with the wagons will be simplified and the process will be accelerated ," he stressed .
