Baku hosts the seventh Eurasian annual seminar of tax experts from the International Tax and Investment Center (ITIC).
ITIC Head Daniel Veet said it involves over 60 reps from 7 Eurasian countries. "We are glad that the seminar runs in Baku. Its main purpose is to familiarize with Azerbaijan's experience in taxation and tax administration" Veet said.
The Tax and Finance Ministries of Azerbaijan supported the event, he said. .
Deputy Finance Minister Azer Bayramov said earlier such activities were conducted mainly at the ITIC headquarters, either in the EU countries, and its organization in one of the CIS countries is an important event.
"The main purpose of the seminar is to exchange views and experiences, discuss planned and ongoing reforms among the participating countries from the CIS region. This is important because the region's economies are similar," Bayramov said.
The three-day seminar is attended by representatives of the Eurasian economic union, the Organization of Tax Administrations in Europe, the delegations of Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Georgia and Turkmenistan, as well as representatives of the Azerbaijani state structures.
