Afghanistan eager to establish Iranian manufacturing units inside country

Anwar - ul Haq Ahadi , Minister of Finance of Afghanistan, called on Iran to establish its goods manufacturing units in Afghanistan due to high demand for Iranian goods in Afghanistan, IRNA reported.

"Iran is an industrial country and can help to boost industrialization of Afghanistan. Therefore producing Iranian goods (inside Afghanistan) would improve the bilateral trade," he said.

Iran 's share of export to Afghanistan is less than its expectations, while Afghanistan is eager to import more Iranian goods.

The Iran-Afghanistan trade was $1.400 billion last solar year (end March 20, 2011), while more than $1 billion from this figure belongs to Iran export to Afghanistan.

Afghanistan 's overall export amounted to $403 million, while import from Uzbekistan, China, Japan, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Iran, India Turkmenistan and Turkey is estimated at $3.336 million.
