Uzbekistan, Tashkent, June 14 / Trend, D. Azizov /

Uzbek President Islam Karimov signed a decree approving an intergovernmental agreement between Uzbekistan and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on mutual assistance in customs.

The agreement was signed in Tashkent in March 2011. The document was signed by the Chairman of the State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan Zohid Dusanov and Jordanian Ambassador to Uzbekistan Muwaffaq Ajlouni.

The agreement envisages an exact assessment of customs duties, taxes and other payments between the two countries. It further ensures that customs tariffs are set correctly during the exportation and importation of goods, preventing violations in this regard and ensuring mutual cooperation in the customs field.

The Uzbek Foreign Ministry has been authorized to notify Jordan about changing internal procedures, as stipulated in the approved document.
