Some 16,200 cars were imported into Azerbaijan in January-April. It is 14 percent more than the same period last year, the State Statistics Committee said.
According to the State Statistics Committee, the total value of imported cars amounted to about $155 million, or 31.9 percent more than in January-April 2010.
During the reporting period, 1,461 trucks were imported into Azerbaijan, or 5.6 percent less than the same period of last year. The total value of imported cars amounted to about $26.74 million, or 7.2 percent less than last year.
The country imported 212 buses, or 26.9 percent less than in January-April 2010. Buses worth $9.84 million were imported during this period, or 34.2 percent less than the same period last year.
Some 333 trucks were produced in Azerbaijan in January-May, which is more by 64.9 percent compared to January-May 2010. During this period, 165 cars were produced, which is less by 8.8 percent compared to January-May 2010.
