According to the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee, vehicles transported about 30.168 million tons of cargo in January-June or 14.06 percent more than in 2010, the committee said.
Exports of goods in this period amounted to 18.07 million tons, imports - 4.28 million tons.
Roughly 152,160 tons of cargo was transported by sea, 1.619 million tons by railway, 271,110 tons by cars and 393,880 tons by air in the first half. The transportation by stationary vehicles totaled 15.63 million tons.
Some 637,900 tons were imported by sea, 2.759 million tons by railway, 857,390 tons by cars and 10,124 tons by air.
Roughly 7.817 million tons of cargo was transported by transit through Azerbaijan in January-June 2011.
