In January-June 2011, the agricultural production increased by 6.2 percent in Azerbaijan, including crop production - by 8.3 percent, livestock production - by 4.8 percent, the State Statistics Committee said.
In the field of animal husbandry the number of cattle increased by 1.3 percent during the year to 2.66 milion, sheep and goats - by 1 percent to 8.63 million.
During this period, 207,900 tons of meat in live weight, 797,800 tons of milk, 517,700 million chicken eggs and 14,200 tons of wool were produced.
Meat production grew by 5. 6 percent, milk by 7.8 percent, wool by 7.5 percent, while eggs decreased by 15.2 percent in January-June compared to the same period of 2010.
