South Korea joined the list of buyers of products of the Halach factory located in the Lebap region of Turkmenistan, the Neytralniy Turkmenistan newspaper reported. The countries- customers of the factory's products are also the United States, Russia, Turkey and United Arab Emirates.

The factory produced 3,137 tons of yarn in January-August of 2011, which is more by 217 tons compared to the same period of 2010. The bulk of production - natural yarns of different rooms - is exported.

The Halach factory is the largest textile complex in south Lebap and operates since 2005. Some 160 people, mostly residents of nearby villages, operate in a fully automated production.

Some 550,000 hectares of land have been allocated for cotton in 2011. While sowing, special emphasis is placed on each region's soil and climatic characteristics.
About 1.3 million tons of raw cotton was collected, instead of the 1.05 million tons planned in 2010.

Cotton grows in five provinces (regions) in Turkmenistan: Akhal, Mary, Lebap, Dashoguz and Balkan. Crop harvesting is carried out from August to October.

Medium-fibrous cotton of Upland type grows in all regions of the country, fine-fibre cotton of as Pima type in the Akhal and Mary provinces. Cotton production is sold through the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan.
