New enterprises launched in Navoi FIEZ

Five new enterprises worth over $14 million have been put into operation at Navoi free industrial and economic zone (Navoi FIEZ), a source in the governmental circles told Trend.

Five new enterprises worth over $14 million have been put into operation at Navoi free industrial and economic zone (Navoi FIEZ), a source in the governmental circles told Trend.

UZKOR Lighting JV, established by Uzeltehsanoat and South Korea's Shinghwa Lighting, launched the production of energy saving gas-discharge compact lamps. Its design capacity is 13.7 million units of lamps a year. The project cost is $4.7 million. Half of products will be directed to exports.

CFM ProEnergies JV, established by Uzprommashimpeks of the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade and CFM Holding (Singapore), launched the production of light-emitting diode lamps and lightening goods.

The venture will produce over 3 million units of light-emitting diode lamps, street lamps, traffic lights, floodlights and light-emitting diode advertisement panels a year. The project cost is $5 million.

Navoiy Hunan Pulp JV, established by the Navoiazot and China's Hunan Aloft Imp&Exp.Co.ltd, stared to produce children nappies and other hygienic goods. Its capacity is 200 million units of products a year. The project cost is $2.2 million.

Hansang farm of Uzfarmsanoat started to produce ready medicaments and goods of medical purpose. The production capacity is 10 million pills and galenical medicaments. The project cost is $2 million.

A production of ADSL and DSLAM modems was launched at the base of the Uzbek-Singaporean Telecom Innovations. The company will produce 25,000 goods a year. The project cost is about $1million.

Navoi FIEZ was established upon the presidential decree in December 2008.
Its functioning term is 30 years. Special customs, currency and tax regimes will operate here during the period.
