Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Co-chairman of the Azerbaijani-Russian inter-governmental commission on trade-economic cooperation Alexander Khloponin is expected to visit Baku in early October, a government source in Azerbaijan told Trend on Tuesday. Also Khloponin is president's envoy in the North Caucasus federal district.
"Currently, a group is on visit to Baku to discuss Khloponin's visit to Azerbaijan," trade representative of Russia in Azerbaijan Yuri Shedrin told Trend.
He said it is possible to sign agreements with the subjects of the North Caucasus federal district during the visit.
Shedrin said the meeting of the co-chairmen of the inter-governmental commission Alexander Khloponin and Yagub Eyyubov [First Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan] will focus on issues of bilateral economic cooperation.
Discussions are also supposed to be conducted on a draft inter-governmental agreement on promotion and mutual protection of investments, on which there are still differences.
