Azerbaijan, Ukraine sign action plan to combat smuggling

The Azerbaijani State Customs Committee (SCC) and State Customs Service of Ukraine signed a joint action plan to combat smuggling in Baku on Thursday, the SCC told Trend on Thursday.
The document was signed by the heads of the two countries' customs bodies Aydin Aliyev and Igor Kaletnik, and envisages conducting joint actions in the fight against smuggling, exchange experiences and information, as well as staff training in this sphere.
During the meeting, representatives of both agencies discussed the current level of relations and further cooperation on Thursday.
According to the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee, the trade turnover between the countries in the first seven months of 2011 amounted to 1.04 billion manat.
The official exchange rate is 0.7868 manat to $1 on Oct.13.
